The Real Problogger

Lovie the Cat
Lovie the Cat
Do you ever wonder who really writes the blog posts around here?

Lovie the Cat told me he wanted to be a Problogger today. Maybe I should let him take over the blog. He’s not a lazy slacker like me.

I started out my blogging career helping my old buddy Bob (of bobbarama dot com fame) build his little bloggy empire. I enjoy that side of things. He encouraged me to begin my own blog last spring and it has been rewarding, but because I don’t yet find it real comfortable to write when I’d rather be tweaking stuff, it’s been a challenge.

I read a ton of blogs. I love blogs. I love my blog. But when am I going to be able to login in to my blog, write a post (or two!) without being distracted by widgets and networking sites and cool new templates I simply must try?!

As I was writing this, my 3-year-old son Leo was sitting beside me and he pointed to the photo of my cat Lovie and said “kitty blogging!” HA HA HA! I hadn’t said that, and I didn’t know Leo knew the word blog. Ok, so maybe I should have Leo write this blog?

Have you all checked out my friend Andrew’s totally radical new blog — My Blog Rules — yet? He manages to surprise, entertain and inform me every single time I visit. This post — Double Feature of Duds — brought back some memories of my favorite horror flick of all-time (The Lost Boys) and in particular this video I feature below. I had a HUGE (no pun intended) crush on this over sized hunk of man back then. Check out Tim Capello and his saxophone … hmm … I think the crush lives on.

Aww aren’t you just the sweet one, Paula? Thanks so much for the bodaciously awesome kind words. :) I don’t think I’ve ever seen that video, but I most definitely had a crush too… no, not on some shirtless sax-playing guy, but on the crazy psycho big-haired bustier-wearing vampire chick from the movie. It’s no wonder Michael started turning, right?

And you better make sure you’ve got your parental controls set on your web browsers. Don’t want Lovie stumbling on any kitty porn sites, y’know.

I think it will be a long time before there are no new widgets, but if it’s any comfort I usually get tired of them quickly. I prefer a cleaner blog (I like yours) and have been stripping some of my blogs of their widgets to focus on what I’ve got to sell. I suspect that no matter what, the best way to get traffic is simply by writing good stuff and being as nice as possible to one’s readers.

(Says she, whose link love post is late this month.)

I spend a considerable time each day checking out new stuff, and learning. As long as I’m learning, it’s fun, right? :)

The original version was done by The Call if anyone is interested. I still have that soundtrack by the way on cassette hehe. I don’t think they even make a big deal of movie soundtracks anymore, the films all seem to have the same songs.

The Lost Boys has always been one of my most favorite vampire flicks. I’ve probably watched it a 100 times and yet I still never get tired of it =)

Hi Paula!
My cat usually stops by now and agin when I’m typing away and bats me on the leg, “Hey, I’m down here”.
I had to start over and strip my blog complete because rankwidget dot com was leading pop up ads to my site. I was not sure what the real cause was at first and paniced that someone had hacked into my site - like things I had heard of previously in the blogoshere. -anyway, I saved all of my old widgets, links, badges and so forth, but have not added many back. I think my blog was overload before??
I like the way your page is set up having older posts in what lookes like “tables” on the bottom. Is this a wordpress feature??
Happy weekend. Hope things are “gettin` better every day” …. Tesla :-)

Eric
ps … thanks

I’m such an idiot, all of this time I could have had my cat doing my dirty work for me. She spends half of her time lying on my computer desk anyway! I wonder if she’d blog for kitty treats?

:)

I remember a girl on the school bus when I was younger, asking me to try and understand a certain part of the Lost Boys novel. She hadn’t realized it was going to be a horror (: Funny!

As you all know Content is the KING. The best way to get traffic is simply by writing good content to your posts. It does not matter who writes the post you or your cat Lovie. :)
